Kids Say the Darnest Things

If you know my daughter you know she is a walking MESS . She has so much personality and can be pretty funny at times . Kids really do say the darnest things . Growing up , my mother use to always say do as I say and not as I do. For the longest I thought that was the most hypocritical thing ever but after having children of my own DO AS I SAY AND NOT AS I DO couldn't be more valued. Kassydi loves to repeat everything she hears and act's as she see's. Every morning I cook breakfast for my family. One morning I was running late so a big breakfast was out of the question , I grabbed a banana cut it up and split it between Kassydi and her little brother . Kassydi goes "Mommy , whats this? , I want some food and where's daddy's plate" . It dawned on me then that this child is far more receptive than I presumed . It is very important to watch what you do and say around your children because THEY WILL REPEAT AND REPLAY whatever it is they've been exposed to. I laughed so hard and went to at least make her a grilled cheese. Children are so smart and can genuinely be molded into whatever you want them to be so if you want a smart , respectful little human parading around , guess what? you have to present yourself as a smart , respectful big human. Kassydi treats everyone she comes in contact with the way I treat them (aside from her little brother lol). I used to get in my feelings about how much she appreciated her father and just think he can conquer the world but I had to realize that she treated her dad that way because she noticed how I treated him. Yesterday she complimented my hair and then asked me where I got it from lol I was so taken back (mind you this is my real hair looking a hot mess I'm wearing). My kids never cease to astonish me with the things they do and say. Kids really do say the darnest things, its amazing how much you can learn from a 2 year old!
