WORK FRIENDS

Working from job to job can be discouraging. You feel like you have no real place , working dead end jobs you never seen yourself working a day in your life. What I've come to realize is each job you work , you learn a new skill to apply to the next one. Everything I've learned from my previous job coincides perfectly with the job I'm currently working. Also I've learned that what you see is not always what you get.If you know me, you know I have a very inviting personality . The minute a hello is exchanged I'm spending the next 3 hours listening to your life story (and that's okay lol , I enjoy it!). When you've worked job to job (to job for some of us) , you meet so many different people and it tells you a lot about yourself. What kind of work friends do you attract? YES THERE'S A TYPE . I always seem to get the "mom" work friends. I'm sure your thinking well duh Anita , your a mom of course your going to attract mom work friends. I mean work friends that want to mom me lol. They seem to have it all together; very independent and established in their lives and in who they are (the complete opposite of me .... so I think) but, its actually the opposite. They practice acting as though everything is so perfect they become detached from their inner being and when the shit hits the fan in their lives (because it seems to always do after I've encountered these mom friends), they're destroyed & the roles reverse and I find myself consuming the mom friend role; comforting them the best way I can. Work is just the adult version of school , there's the "mom" friends, the messy friends, the friend friends , the fake friends , and even the enemy friends. I'm happy to attract the mom friends because it reassures me that even the most knowledgeable person don't know it all. You know what they say, you are the company you keep........ UNLESS YOUR THE THERAPIST! .
