I Do

Tis the season to be engaged (or pregnant lol). My advice to the fellow "To Be's"; BE SURE. I've never been married or even engaged so who am I to advise anything you ask? .. Someone who has seen many marriages/relationships strive and fail (including my own). When your the advisee of so many people you learn a thing or two (who knows, I may just become a marriage counselor after I get my degree). The most common problem throughout relationships is the lack of effective communication. Did you know that 85% of what is heard in a conversation is the tone? Instead of talking at your significant other, try talking to them. Also, listen. I like to believe that everyone has three ears. The two on the outside of your head and then your translation of what the other person is saying. Previously I was told "I'm tired of you" (the utmost insult if you ask me lol) . What I heard was “get out , I hate you . This not working , I need space” . Some people third ear is more dramatic than others but this is a terrible habit because for women, most of the time guys say what they mean and if your too busy inferring about what you think they mean , you could miss something . Any how , if your getting ready to say I Do, I’m sure you’ve mastered or is working to master this. Marriage is more than just two people pledging their love for one another. It’s a partnership. They say you don’t mix business with pleasure , but when you become one with your significant other , that’s kind of what your doing . You two have decided to work through any differences, tolerate all flaws and share one line of credit lol . Both parties should be excited because finding the one is a beautiful thing ! Congratulations to everyone that is engaged, bring on the beautiful wedding photos!
