Happy November Everyone (3 more days until December)! It is officially the holiday season . This is my favorite time of year ! I love the idea of joy , happiness , peace , family , unity & most importantly FOOD!! (Lol) . Kassydi turned 4 (going on 40) & I recently turned 82 (okay , maybe just 25) . Its funny how polar opposites adults and children are . As a child a birthday was EVERYTHING! , Maybe you got to ride that roller coaster or stay out later than usual or just the thought of being older was exhilarating. We couldn’t wait for our birthdays to get older . Now we’re like “oh no , we’re getting old” (Just a loose loose lol). I was just in a FRENZY about aging and where I was in my life. Turns out , our younger selves had the right idea! Getting old isn't supposed to be anxious or stressful. It's a fresh start to make goals and achieve them, to change, to mature; SO CELEBRATE! Don't psych yourself out ( Im good at that!). God has been so good to us !! (Amen!) .
Here’s what I learned ; We don't like to age because being an adult can be a HUGE struggle, but guess what?! You never truly understand the struggle until you are lifted out of it (& I do mean lifted!) You become more appreciative , grateful , & enduring when you’ve been wondering in the darkness for so long and catch just a glimpse of light . I wrote how to get your life together awhile ago . Have you got it together? If not, me either but I am in the process of doing so. The steps you take are acceptance (knowing you have to change), creating a plan (organizing your steps from A to Z!) , executing that plan (ACTION ACTION ACTION!) and of course the most challenging part , consistency . I have accepted that I needed to change and figured out what it is that needed redirecting, I created a plan , vision board rather that governs my goals and I am currently living out that vision board every day. Sometimes I fall off the ban wagon of consistency, but there's always something there to realign me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to go back to that drawing board . Getting your life together is not only physical. The most important aspect of growing , maturing and changing habits is your mental and emotional well being . If you can not control the internal, you will not control the external. So you’ve been doing everything “right” and it still seems like you are in that black hole , perhaps its time to examine the intangible aspects of yourself . You know what they say, Beauty is inside out!!!!!
