IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE IN CONTROL OF YOUR OWN LIFE!

Now I know what you're probably thinking: well DUH ANITA!

(Because you knew that you had the power all along right?)

For the longest I’ve been bound by growth hindering presumptions I created inside my mind. Thoughts that I have deemed to be facts, laws even!

After binge listening to self help videos on YouTube, I feel like I've been

DELIVERT

So I thought I'd pass the message right along.....

Lets start off with what you plan on being in the near future.

I just want to be GREAT, don’t you?

(Well obviously if your reading this blog right?)

I thought enrolling back in school would be just what I’ve been waiting/needing/hoping/breathing for

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!

It’s not the opportunities; if your looking in the right place, they’re always gonna be there. But, if you aren't taking advantage of them whats the point? We have become so accustomed to pointing the finger else where; excuse after excuse as to why we aren't where we want to be in life. Did you notice that every time you point a finger, there are more pointing back at you?!

On my YouTube self help binge, the most common knowledge shared among all the motivational speakers I'd encountered was the notion that

All change starts with Y O U

And it makes sense

After all, its the only thing you can truly control.

Its not that that opportunity came at the wrong time or that other people have better luck.

As I blasted Lyrica Anderson’s Adia album and wrote my Anthropology paper all I could do was shake my head and here's why:

  1. It was initially due WEEKS ago

  2. It’s 11:40 and the paper is due at 11:59

  3. Its by the grace of the Lord that she’s still allowing me to turn it in and I'm still BARELY making it!

But that's not the worse part of it all;

When I finally completed the paper all I could do was “pray” that I receive a passing grade......

As if that's how God operates.....

Myles Munroe said it best: Christians (and I do identify as one) , are some of the most disobedient group of people. We disobey the laws that were placed in front of us by God , and then ask him to help us through breaking them.

Its like we see God as more of a "life line", rather than the line of life.

It's no secret that

PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE: a universal LAW

So what makes me think that I am above that? 2 Corinthians 9:6 specifically states that you get out of a thing whatever it is you put into it.

Don't get me wrong, because of JESUS CHRIST we are forgiven, but that does not mean we won’t reap whatever it is we’ve sown (me , a barely passing grade).

--SO LETS CUT TO THE CHASE--

I am where I am because of who I am AND what I attract: The law of attraction. I am a bonafide procrastinator!!

I go out of my way to operate on an average leveled playing field.

I literally go into a situation, assess it and decipher how much slacking I can do (TALK ABOUT LAZY HABITS).

WELL NOT ANYMORE

I’m over it!

I’m tired of knowing what I can do but not doing it , knowing who I am to become but not working towards that .

I REPEAT: I WANT TO BE GREAT!

And I’ve come to accept that that starts with me. There is no miracle that's going to fall out of the sky and change everything;

Not without some serious effort being put in on MY part.

So lets make the conscious effort to break mind barrier thoughts and habits

STARTING NOW

The first step starts with YOU!!! (& me of course)

Acknowledge yourself as the FIRST problem.

Sure it’s fun to be a little modest here and there, but now is not the time!

Give yourself the credit you deserve so you can grow & lets become in charge of the ONLY thing we can control:

OURSELVES!!

When was the last time you checked in on you? Yes, I said it; Y O U. Self-care is so important in this day and age. CAUTION: PLEASE DO...
